Biography
Elvis Bruno was born in Manati, Puerto Rico in 1980, his parents were raised in a church environment ... his mother came from a family of singers, his father came from a family of guitarists and musicians.
Elvis's parents were in their early years were in a church group that traveled the island of Puerto Rico, shortly after they married and had Elvis. At the age of 4, Elvis and his family moved to the Bronx New York City, and it was at that moment he was presented with some bongos a family friends.
During those years playing bongos in the front seat in the church, has always admired the drummer and his approach to the configuration of different types of music and rhythms. At the age of 6 years Elvis went from bongos to congas, this is where he found a passion for his folkloric music SALSA. Living in the Bronx in New York surrounded by Latin music he took on the feel of salsa easily.
At the age of 8 Elvis and his family moved to Haverhill Massachusetts for a pastoral calling. Elvis was a bit more complete in the music scene, his parents at the time were touring locally to surrounding cities with their band. In the band his cousin, Abimael Laureano was the first drummer that Elvis saw as an example. At this stage Elvis felt a passion for the instrument always watching and listening to his cousin Abby’s groove and staying busy with different cuts and riffs.
In 1990 a church family bought a blue TAMA five piece. At this point, his cousin Abby had moved to another state. Elvis took upon himself the responsibility and desire to learn and help his church in the music section (drums). From there Elvis began to hear a band called TORRE FUERTE, here the musicians were ex musicians of famous spanish recording artist...Luis Miguel. In that band was where Elvis’s first mentor on the drums was Alvaro Lopez. Elvis was intrigued by Alvaro and his playing and combinations especially his full sound. Elvis began to imulate what I was hearing out of the recordings, then Elvis was then later on adding his own style to your instrument.
In 1998, Elvis and his parents and two younger brothers (Keith and Paul) Keith a singer and Paul (percussion), moved to a town in Pennsylvania called Allentown. Elvis met very good friends, one of them was another musician in his church, Steve Miranda who was another drummer who shared the same musical style and musical ideas. One day, Steve invited Elvis to his house to see some music videos ... Elvis had no idea th
